My FIL has his ICD cum pacemaker installed this morning and so far so good. He is allowed to eat immediately after the operation and this is critical for him. He is always worrying about his meals. It is like a man's thing. Personally, I am obsessed by meals too. However, I think he over-reacts to the bland food the hospital served him.
We did not visit him today and so my MIL is asking her daughter. I think it is good to have daughters as they are pretty good in visiting their father when he is in the hospital. My in-laws have 5 girls and a boy. The fourth daughter has a brain aneurysm on the way to visit us in Canada when B3 was born. She died when the plane was landing on Narita. It was a shock for my wife as she was looking forward to their visit. Let's not delve on the past tragedy.
With the pacemaker, I think he can be discharge from the hospital pretty soon. Medical advances has allow man to extend his mortality. This is the reason why the average lifespan of mankind keep extending. Eventually, man may live average age of 100 years.
