Joy of Work

Working gives meaning to life. It is so frustrating and yet satisfying. It is a love-hate relationship. I want to work yet I love to quit. Ever been in such a dilemma? The term work give the impression it is dull, uninteresting and something one do to survive. Whether you are a student or an adult. Do your homework admonish your parent. Get your work done! boss chides.

One futurologist(one who forecast future) predicts in the far future work will only be for the privileged few as machines will take over all the mundane tasks such as growing and manufacturing food, keeping the environment clean and making sure there is law and order. The rest of the population will have to figure out ways to keep themselves entertained all the time.

I hope this futurologist is wrong!

I think it's quite true that machines are taking over human job.U see in the past, there were carpark attendants who sat inside the box to issue tickets. But now there is carpark system whereby u just press button, and out the card is released. Then u just pay via a machine. Most menial jobs are taken over by the machines. Very sad but true. What is the way of the future? More intellectual who just give their opinions? But then there is still hope. Those in the shipping work like ship repair still need human beings to do welding and menial work. Then those smart investors who invest in stock make so much money. Relevant knowledge of the world will enable us to survive in this competitive world.
