Christmas in Singapore

The rains decided to stop after pouring out 314mm in three days non-stop. We take advantage of the good weather and go to Orchard Road. The lights, the people, music, buskings, the air is filled with Christmas mood. I feel like a tourist. The cool weather was excellent for walking. Tourist Promotion Board of Singapore has setup mock scenes of Jesus birthplace manned by people dressed in costumes from place and time. It is very historical. You can even take pictures with them for $5.

The Crossroad! This is the junction of Orchard at Takashimaya and Paragon. Every half hour, the junction will have a minute where all traffic are stopped. Everyone can go to the junction and do whatever they like - take picture, dance, make faces, free-for-all. It is quite exciting. We were there twice. It was fun albeit a little too short-lived. There are also Jokers on stilts. Very colourful.

To catch the Christmas Spirits, go to Orchard Road.

I went there tonight. It is indeed a joyous event. Many different choir groups are performing at various locations in Orchard Road.
