The first thing we noticed about eating at home is how thirsty we feel after our meals at the hawker centers. We never feel thirsty eating all the different types of food in Taipei. Not only do we use msg or rather the hawkers are taking shortcuts. We used them so much that we always feel thirsty after our meal.
I wonder why the very popular food scenes in Taipei need not use any flavor enhancers and they have roaring business. So our hawkers must be poor cooks that need to use artificial means to make their food taste better.
