The Social Animal

The format of this book is different.  It is on social psychology and use fictional and composite life of a family in American to explain and illustrate the latest research findings.  I had read the book halfway and now continuing with the audio version.  The family is half Mexican half Chinese and from working poor moving up the social ladder through education and hard work.  The cultural heritage of the two different ethnic groups are highlighted and articulated.  Being a Chinese I can identify with what the author says about the Chinese culture.  As the life of the family unfolds, different research papers and books are cited.  So it is quite scientific in a story form.  I can't wait to finish this book!
