According to the Happiness show now on every Saturday on Channel News Asia, we tends to stay in equilibrium. Winning a million dollar, we will be ecstastic for a few weeks and then our emotion will be back to normal. If we are hit with a negative event, we will be sad or depressed for a couple of weeks and then our emotions will revert back to normal.
It is natural to be in a more or less neutral state although some of us are naturally optimistic and therefore happier and others are pessmistic and less happy. Most of us are... hmm! just balanced. To make ourselves happier, we just need to review our 3 gratitudes for the day before we go to bed.
Nowadays, I can get into a happier mood by thinking and thanking for all the good things I have.
