Floods is becoming common. I wonder if D-Day is coming. I know it is fatalistic and As Right As Rain is the proverb I learn since primary school. Man or PUB in the case of Singapore has done a tremendous job of controlling floods in the past. The monsoon canals were widen and drains in low lying areas deepen. For many years, there were no floods. Once in a while we get the floods in the Thomson road area where the nurseries are.
Orchard Road flood again, 2nd time in as many months. All the new measures implemented obviously did not work. The rain volume that come down in a few hours is the same volume that previously is the cumulative total for the whole month.
Will we wake up and found ourselves surrounded by water?
