Dreams

I have many dreams. One of my dream is to live in a small university town where there is easy access to academic facilities such as libraries and laboratories. This idea is the future cities will be built around an University. It should be small enough not to require cars for transportation within the city to reduce pollution. Amenities and entertain should be within walking or cycling. Different cities should be connected by trains. There must be adequate medical facilities and capabilities to treat most ailments and larger or megacity will have more specialised medical centers. Today, megacities are growing and growing. When it come to cities, size does matter. Big cities are thriving. So my dreams of living in small cities may mean that I have to seriously consider living outside Singapore which will become a city of 4 million.

Yo, I can't believe it, U are thinking what I have been thinking. I was wondering, in order to save energy like fuel, petroleum, why not encourage ppl who intend to work in the industry like research to live in an area with industries that specialize in research so tat it can save car diesal cost. Residents don't have to travel so far and it save transport too. It is an idea which I was thinking of when I travel for work. I wanted to work somewhere in tampines, but there wasn't a suitable vacancy.

Unfortunately, utopia can be only for a few. Most of us still have to commute.
