Near Misses and Accidents

Incidents are high according to the news reports on the "budget airlines". With air travel coming to a new age of quote AirAsia's "Anyone can fly" slogan, safety seems to be compromised in the interest of cost reduction. Will the fatality rates of air travel rise to the level of road travel? It will be terrible when this happen.
