Flow

Ever heard of Flow? Flow is to move in a stream, to proceed smoothly and readily, to have smooth continuity according to Merriam-Webster's College Dictionary. Flow is the title of a book by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. What a mouthful! Try pronouncing the author's last name.

This book caught my interest as it is right opposite the New Age section in Kino. Mihaly is a Professor of Psychology in University of Chicago. MC did research in why some are happy and are high achiever. There is a point where everything "flow" for the individual. The surgeon concentrating intently of the surgical procedure, student studying for exams, the pianist in concert, anyone in a state where he or she is one with the work or performance. In order to achieve greatness, we must be in the state of flow. There are several suggestions on how to achieve the flow state.

I personally feel that this 'flow' is akin to passion. Passion is the driving force.
