Boarding pass

Do you know you can now print your own boarding pass when you do internet check-in?

The problem with the Singapore Airlines system is you still have to go to the counter to get the boarding pass you print at home endorsed. The counter staff is supposed to check your passport. So what is the point? Nothing really change except you now pay for the paper and printer ink. It also befuddles me that counter staff has to check the validity of the passport and then we pass immigration. Is Singapore Immigration counter and computer system that screw up to allow people with expired passport to pass?

As the saying goes, there is no guarantee that technology will operate smoothly. Hmm, maybe they want to make sure that everything is ok. Hmm, so insecurity that the system will screw-up lead them to double-check which lead to increase in operating cost. Btw, I only know now that we can print the boarding pass. We must use less paper and save the earth.

Just wonder, why not they put a company stamp and signature on the boarding pass u print to save paper?

The stamp is to show someone from the counter physically check the passport before stamping on the self-printed boarding. With this step, it makes no different as you still have to go to the counter.
